Jake Miller is a gifted horse-gentler. He is also an apprentice blacksmith. He is courting Amanda and life is going according to plan. That is until Priscilla comes back to town. 6 years ago she lost her mother in a tragic accident and she has not been able to get over the guilt of it all.
Jake’s boss is Priscilla’s Uncle and asks Jake to help her to reconnect with the community. They are soon at odds with each other, and yet there is something about Priscilla that makes Jake want to “fix” her. What will Jake discover about Priscilla along the way? About forgiveness?
With the men being the main characters of the series it adds a bit of a different element to the stories. A male’s perspective of a story is a so different from the female side of it. Jake is practical and sees things as needed fixing, whether it is a troubled horse or a person, but that doesn’t always go well until he is willing to listen to what the problem might be.
